This seasonal nature tour offers a unique opportunity to witness the spectacular blooming of wild tulips in the Aksu-Zhabagly Nature Reserve, one of Central Asia’s most important biodiversity hotspots. Guests will explore mountain meadows, alpine valleys, canyons, and foothill landscapes while learning about endemic flora and local rural life in the Western Tien Shan region.

Meet the group upon arrival at Shymkent International Airport or railway station.
Transfer towards Zhabagly with a stop at the Aksu-Zhabagly Nature Reserve Museum, the oldest nature reserve museum in Central Asia.
The visit provides an insightful introduction to the reserve’s unique ecosystems, endemic flora and fauna, wild tulip species, and conservation efforts in the Western Tien Shan (a UNESCO World Heritage area). This museum visit sets an important educational and contextual foundation before exploring the reserve in the following days.
Continue transfer to the village of Zhabagly, located at the foothills of the Western Tien Shan Mountains and serving as the main gateway to the Aksu-Zhabagly Nature Reserve.

Day 2: Aksu Canyon & Alpine Landscapes

Early departure into the Aksu-Zhabagly Nature Reserve (subject to permits). Visit the dramatic Aksu Canyon and surrounding alpine landscapes, where spring flowers bloom alongside mountain rivers and grasslands.
Guided nature walks along designated trails with interpretation of local flora, fauna, and geology. Picnic lunch in a scenic natural setting. Optional short hikes depending on group fitness level and weather conditions.
Return to Zhabagly village in the late afternoon.

Day 3: Zhabagly – Shymkent

After breakfast, enjoy an optional short walk near the village for final scenic views and photographs.
Transfer back to Shymkent.
Upon arrival, drive to one of the highest viewpoints in the northern part of the city — the Baidibek Bi Monument, offering a panoramic view over Shymkent.
Continue the city tour with a visit to the architectural ensemble of the Kazyna Ethno-Historical Complex, including:
the monument dedicated to the 550th Anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate,
Nauryz Square, an important public and ceremonial space.
Visit the Shymkent Regional History and Local Lore Museum, providing insight into the region’s history, culture, and traditions.
Next, visit the Seytzhan Qari Eszhanuly Grand Mosque, a modern spiritual landmark and one of the largest mosques in southern Kazakhstan. Located in the new administrative and business district of Shymkent, the mosque represents the city’s contemporary architectural and religious development.
Check-in at the hotel.
In the afternoon, transfer to the old part of Shymkent for a guided tour of the historical core:
Shymqala Citadel (historical and cultural complex),
Park of the 20th Anniversary of Independence of Kazakhstan,
Golden Bridge,
Ordabasy Square.
Conclude the day with a walking tour along Beibitshilik pedestrian street, locally known as Shymkent Arbat – a lively promenade popular with both residents and visitors.

After breakfast, optional short walk near the village for final views and photos. Transfer back to Shymkent for onward flight or train departure.
