Transfer to Baikonur, a unique complex in Kazakhstan that includes the world’s largest operating cosmodrome. Arrival at the checkpoint, where your documents will be checked for entry into the city.

The tour begins with a visit to one of the cosmodrome’s most iconic facilities—the Buran assembly and refueling complex. It is here that the two orbital spacecraft—Buran and Burya—are stored and exhibited, symbols of the Soviet space program.

During the tour, you will learn about the creation of the Energia-Buran reusable space system, the specifics of spacecraft assembly and preparation, and the history of the program itself. The scale of the complex and the size of the orbital spacecraft are impressive and allow you to truly appreciate the grandeur of engineering.

The route then continues to another unique facility at the cosmodrome—the Energia-M dynamic Test Stand. The dynamic research facility was used to test components of the Energia launch vehicle. A small Energia is housed here—an experimental prototype that allows for a visual representation of the design of one of the most powerful rockets in the history of space exploration. A guide will explain the tests conducted here and their significance for the development of space technology.

Afterward, we’ll travel to the legendary site where the era of manned spaceflight began: Pad No. 1, or “Gagarin’s Start” from which Yuri Gagarin became the first person in human history to launch into space on April 12, 1961. Here you’ll learn about the preparations for the first manned launches, the traditions of cosmonauts, and key moments in space history.

Also located next to this facility is the historic command post (CP), from which the first space launches, including Yuri Gagarin’s, were controlled. You’ll conclude the historical part with a visit to Gagarin’s Gazebo, where the State Commission met with cosmonauts in 1961, officially confirming Yuri Gagarin as the first Soviet cosmonaut.

To absorb all the information and impressions you’ve received from your guide, you’ll proceed to lunch in Baikonur.

Afterward, preparations for the rocket launch begin at the launch site. The route continues to the observation post, which offers the most spectacular view of this impressive spectacle.
